LESSON 8 OF 8 / Content quality
Make AI-assisted content worth trusting
Use original evidence, clear sourcing and provenance without mistaking a label for factual accuracy.
Your output: A repeatable evidence and review checklist for published content.
Give the content something real to say
A polished explanation can still be generic or wrong. Start with evidence your team can stand behind: a documented process, a permissioned example, a customer question, an original observation or a sourced comparison. Decide what the reader will understand or do better after reading.
If you conduct a small study, describe the sample, date, selection method and limits. Ten interviews can reveal useful questions; they do not establish how an entire industry behaves. Clearly label fictional examples and demonstrations. Never turn an illustrative calculation into a client result.
Keep a claim register
For each factual claim, record the source, date checked and person responsible for review. Product features and prices change; link readers to the current official page where appropriate. Ask an expert to challenge the conclusion, not merely polish the wording.
Google’s guidance on generative content focuses on value and spam policies: producing many pages without useful added value can create a scaled-content problem. A process that combines AI drafts with real expertise and verification gives you a better editorial foundation than volume targets alone.
- Gather approved source material before drafting.
- Separate claims, opinions, examples and recommendations.
- Check numbers, quotations, product features and links.
- Add author responsibility and a meaningful review date.
- Correct the source asset before republishing derivatives.
Understand what provenance can establish
Content Credentials can provide information about the origin and editing history of media. That is different from proving every statement or visual interpretation is true. Preserve available provenance information and follow platform disclosure rules for synthetic media.
Do not treat an AI-detection score as a fact-check, or sell watermark removal as an SEO strategy. A useful review checks the underlying evidence, permission to use the material, accuracy of the representation and whether readers could mistake an illustration for a real event or client result.
Build authority through usefulness and accountability
Clear author expertise, relevant proof and consistent business information help people evaluate your work. A practical explanation of how you reached a recommendation is more useful than unsupported claims to be the best. Publish corrections when needed and make responsibility visible.
Create a maintenance rhythm: review commercial pages after pricing changes, review tool tutorials after relevant releases, and revisit recurring customer questions. Keep old screenshots or examples only when their date and purpose are clear. AI can help flag possible stale claims, but someone must verify them before updating the page.
Try it with your business
- Choose an existing article and highlight every factual claim.
- Verify the five claims that most affect the reader’s decision.
- Add one original example or useful operational detail.
- Document who reviews it next and what change should trigger a review.

Use AI to help organize the work
Provide only material you are allowed to use. This prompt helps structure your evidence; it does not give the tool access to your analytics or verify facts on its own.
Audit this draft using the approved sources provided. Return a claim register with claim, source, date sensitivity, verification status and proposed correction. Flag invented results, ambiguous examples and missing attribution. Do not treat confident wording or an AI-detection score as evidence.
Measure: Verified decision-critical claims, useful reader actions and correction quality; publishing volume is secondary.
